ఈ యేడు (ప్రతి ఒక్కరికి) కావాలి శోభాయమానం 

చేకూరాలి అన్నిట్లో లాభం

ఇంటి ముందు ఎన్నెన్నో ముగ్గులు వేసి 

దర్వాజలకు మామిడి తోరణాలు కట్టి 

వంటింట్లో నేతి బొబ్బట్లు చేసి 

ఆరు రుచుల పచ్చడి కలిపి తినేసి

అంతా కలిసి ఆర్భాటంగా 

పండుగ చేసేద్దాం

ఉగాది పండుగ చేసేద్దాం


చైత్ర మాసంతో అడుగిడు పన్నెండు మాసాల

నూతన సంవత్సరంలోకి పరిగెత్తేద్దాం

గుడికి వెళ్లి దైవ దర్శనం చేసి 

పూజారి చెప్పే పంచాంగ పటనం వినేసి 

బంధువులతో పలకరింపులు కానిచ్చేసి

మనస్పూర్తిగా క్షేమం కోరి 

రోజు మొత్తం ప్రశాంతంగా 

పండుగ జరిపేద్దాం

అరవై సంవత్సరాల మన కాల చక్రం తీసుకొచ్చిన

Inspiration & Other Info :


I started writing This song just few days before this year's festival day. It's completed in the afternoon of festival day.

The dilemma of on what to write is somewhat eased with regular festivals and occasions that come regularly. Before this song, I have written songs on Lord Ganesha for Vinayaka Chavithi, A song on New Year for New Year Day, another Patriotic song for Republic day in the last year. So, as Ugadi was on the way, I decided to write one song for the festival,Though I started with initial lines, got struck with what to write next. I couldn't decide on how to continue further till the festival date. I left it there and as it is and got busy with the works for the festival on the day of festival. Once Pooja done and had lunch, went to bed to have some rest, But i opened the lyrics to see if I can continue, to my surprise I have completed the whole song within few minutes.

As I am working on my own, I am not bound to complete the lyrics within any deadline. But, i could complete the songs which I wrote for these auspicious days, all have completed before or on time for those days. Thanks to my efforts and God.
